Pavel has defended his PhD!

Pavel has completed his PhD

We are very proud to share that Pavel from our team has successfully defended his thesis titled CRISPR/Cas9-based Strategies for ADA2 Inborn Error of Immunity on 14 January 2026.

Part of the PhD defence involved a trial lecture on ‘The history and current state-of-the-art for gene therapies using blood stem cells’. You can read more about the disputation in UiO News.

Congratulations, Pavel! 🥳

Pavel’s work at Haapaniemi Lab involved optimising CRISPR-based tools for precise gene correction in hematopoietic stem cells, and developing methodologies and in vivo platforms for future transplantation of gene-edited cells into immunodeficient mice.
