Jacob's master's thesis defence

Jacob’s master’s thesis defense and new role at Haapaniemi group

Congratulations, Jacob!

On 22nd of June, Jacob defended his master’s thesis “In vivo and in vitro strategies to study precise gene editing using CRISPR-Cas9”.

We are very happy to announce that Jacob has decided to continue working at Haapaniemi Lab as our new  research assistant! He will work closely with Pavel, with a particular focus on in vivo experiments.

Here’s what Jacob has to say about his time with the Haapaniemi group:

I spent a year at Haapaniemi lab working on my master's thesis. During that time I have learned a lot of different methods and advanced techniques, including in vitro transcription, electroporation, ddPCR, and cloning.

I was also lucky to get the opportunity to be part of a mouse project which was exciting but also time-consuming.

Haapaniemi Lab is a well-organized lab and has a great working environment. The people working there are friendly and always happy to help. It is also a social lab having gatherings after work for different activities. I am thrilled to say that I will continue working at Haapaniemi Lab with such an exciting field and co-workers.
