We are very excited to welcome two new PhD students who joined us in September: Hatice Karabulut and Sigrid Fu Skjelbostad. 😊
Hatice’s main project here involves developing a CRISPR-based gene editing platform in T cells to enable precise correction of TOM1 and PSMB10 mutations. She previously worked as a research assistant at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and completed an ERASMUS+ internship in Denmark. She holds a BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Turkey and an MSc in Life Sciences from South Korea.
Sigrid was previously a master’s student in our group and has now returned as a PhD student! She is working on engineering T cells with optimized TCR knock-in and enhanced tumor-killing capacity, aiming to improve their effectiveness and resilience in hostile tumor environments. She previously worked as a research assistant in the Bak lab at Aarhus University and holds a master’s degree in biotechnology from NMBU.
