Exciting news: Haapaniemi Group extended at NCMBM

We’re pleased to share that our group will continue as part of the NCMBM center for another four years! 😊

This means we can keep building on our work with gene editing, rare immune disorders, and personalised medicine. The renewal allows us to expand ongoing projects, strengthen our collaborations with clinical partners, and continue exploring how we can turn cutting-edge science into meaningful benefits for patients.

In the next phase of our work, we’ll focus on developing and improving gene editing tools to treat a wider range of rare immune disorders. This includes refining our T-cell editing platform, comparing it with newer technologies like prime and base editing, and working towards safe, long-lasting edits in stem cells. This is an exciting and challenging step with big potential for future therapies.
